2026 Participant Medal Design Unveiled

We’re excited to reveal the 2026 participant medal design!
Following the popularity of last year’s puzzle-shaped medal, the design returns in 2026 as the official participant medal. Inspired by Hawaii’s iconic hibiscus flower and the waves that surround the islands, this year’s medal celebrates the spirit of teamwork and connection. Each medal represents an individual piece, and when all team members come together, the pieces form a single hibiscus flower.

*Actual product may vary.

*The medals were originally produced for the event’s scheduled date in March, so they are engraved with “March 15, 2026.” We apologize that the date shown on the medal differs from the actual event date and appreciate your understanding.

Designed as a symbol of the Ekiden spirit, this unique medal represents the experience of passing the sash (lei) from teammate to teammate and working together toward a common goal. By sharing and collecting each piece, teams can create a lasting reminder of the memories, teamwork, and achievements they experienced together on race day!

The commemorative medals will be awarded to participants of the Rainbow EKIDEN (team relay) as well as the 5K Fun Run & Walk. Please note that participants in the Kids Challenge will receive a different keepsake instead of a medal.
