This unique design features a puzzle shape, where the medals of all team members combine to form a single circular piece, symbolizing the shared memories of running together as a team and representing the unity and the spirit of Ekiden racing.

This new design was created to visually express the concept of “connecting as a team,” which lies at the heart of the Ekiden spirit. While each medal stands independently as an individual piece, it was designed with the hope of preserving the memory of teamwork and mutual support among teammates. It captures the heart of what makes Ekiden so inspiring: every runner playing their part, supporting one another, and strives together toward the finish line.

The commemorative medals will be awarded to participants of the Rainbow EKIDEN (team relay) as well as the 5K Fun Run & Walk. Please note that participants in the Kids Challenge will receive a different keepsake instead of a medal.
